ABAC Rallies To Take Two From GSC

BARNESVILLE, Ga. – After falling in the suspended second game of a doubleheader that was completed over the course of four days, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College rallied in the regularly scheduled doubleheader here Saturday afternoon as the Stallions defeated Gordon State 8-3 and 12-8 in Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association action.

ABAC used a four-run second inning and a three-run fifth while GSC could only produce single runs in the third, fifth and seventh innings.

Blaze O'Saben (Warrenton, Va. / Fauquier HS) had two hits and an RBI as GSC managed just eight hits while striking out nine times and drawing just one walk.

Game two was 4-3 contest after four innings, but ABAC (10-21 overall, 3-11 GCAA) exploded for seven runs in the top of the fifth to complete the sweep.

Adam Alicia-Brooks (Suwanee, Ga. / Collins Hill HS) had a homer for GSC while driving in two runs and also scored three times.

Cole Stanford (Ellerslie, Ga. / Harris Co. HS) also had three hits and scored three times for the Highlanders (19-14, 8-6).

Will McCrum (Kennesaw, Ga. / Kennesaw Mountain HS) had a double during a 3-for-4 performance that produced two runs.
