Sewell Shines in Relief, Pats Comeback to Beat ABAC

The Patriots come from behind again to win their 17th game of the year over Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College 7-6. Isaac Sewell came in the game in the fifth to relieve starter Hunter Pankey and proceeded to throw four and a third scoreless, stirking out seven to shut down ABAC and keep the Pats within striking distance. He earned his team leading fourth win of the year to improve to 4-0. Pankey threw well early in his second start for the Patriots but ran out of gas in the fifth giving up a three run home run to Jorge Pascual.

The Patriots offense was held in check by Stallion starter Terry Garmon. Thad Ector led off the fifth inning with his 2nd home run of the season to get the Patriots on the board. Kareh Valentin drove in the second run with a two-out single to drive n John Marant in the sixth. The Patriots got two more in the sixth when ABAC reliever Trypp Lumpkin walked Kainen Jorge and Kareh Valentin with the bases loaded. In the eighth CF took the lead scoring three runs with two outs. Toribio singled to score Ector for the first run and after Marant was hit by a pitch Juan Correa single in Toribio to tie the game. Kainen Jorge then singled to center to score Marant to take the lead 7-6.

The Patriots will play two more in Georgia on Saturday, 2/25 when they play at South Georgia State in Douglas, GA. First game starts at 12 pm.
