Pirates End Regular Season with Big Win

The Pirate soccer team ended the regular season in spectacular fashion with a 10-0 win over Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC).

Pensacola had seven different players find the back of the net against ABAC. It took the Pirates five minutes to get on the score sheet with Brianna Aaron running on to a through ball played by Paige Phillips. Three minutes later Madelyn Motes finished a cross by Selissa Bly. Bly then stepped up to score a penalty kick two minutes later. Bly continued working by dishing out assists, this time she found Paige Phillips who comfortably put the ball in the back of the net.

Holland Tauscher finished on the 18th minute of the game on an assist by Jenna Maiorino making the score 5-0. Tauscher returned the favor to Maiorino and assisted Jenna to make it 6-0. Paige Phillips and Selissa Bly combined to make it 7-0 before halftime.

In the second half Sarah Griffth, Brianna Aaron and Paige Phillips all got on the scoreboard where Paige completed the Pirates first ever hat-trick. Sidney Roest made a total of eight saves.

The Pirates found out that they will be facing the #15 team in the nation, Cape Fear Community College in the South Atlantic District Tournament on October 28th. Cape Fear was the winner of Region 10. The game will be at 1:00 pm eastern time in Castle Hayne, NC. The game will be livestreamed through the Sea Devils athletics YouTube Channel.
